SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 – The San Francisco Department of Elections must still prepare for counting approximately 10,000 ballots cast in the June 7 Consolidated Presidential Primary Election.

Today’s report was comprised of votes cast on 7,654 provisional ballots and the touch-screen voting equipment. The Department did not tabulate any of the remaining vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots today.

The Department has opened most of the envelopes containing the provisional ballots that voters cast at polling places on Election Day and has extracted nearly all of the provisional ballot cards from their envelopes.

Yesterday, the Department selected the precincts for the 1% manual tally. The Department streamed the selection process live and posted a recording of that process on sfelections.org/live . The 1% manual tally of the precincts selected will begin Monday, June 20, at the Department’s warehouse on Pier 48, at 8 a.m.

The Department will stop processing ballots today at 7 p.m. and begin tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. The Canvass is scheduled to continue daily, except Sundays, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Department’s warehouse on Pier 48.

The Department will continue to release results reports daily at 4 p.m. However, the Department will not tabulate ballot cards this Saturday or Sunday, June 18 and 19; therefore, the Department will not issue results reports this weekend.
